Common questions, honest answers

I cover the biology of puberty (growth spurts, body development, physical changes, puberty hormones, periods, etc.), the emotional landscape, and healthy habits. Everything is presented in an age-appropriate, warm, and often lighthearted way.
-
No — never. Our Changing Bodies is entirely focused on puberty: the physical changes girls can expect and the emotions that come with them. This is an age-appropriate, comfortable space. Sex education is not discussed at any point during the workshop.

Puberty usually begins with one of three signs: breast development, underarm hair, or hair in the private area. These rarely appear all at once, so one is typically enough to know it's starting. That's the right time to come to the workshop. It's designed to give girls a heads-up so that as changes continue, she feels informed and confident rather than caught off guard.

You get to choose who is in your workshop. Whether it’s a classroom from your daughter's school, a soccer team, a Girl Scout troop, a group of neighborhood friends, etc. Once your group is formed, one mom hosts in her home. That can be you or another volunteer from your group with the space to fit everyone. I’ll be giving you documents to forward to other potentially interested moms. After that, we are ready to book a date for the workshop!

I keep each session intimate on purpose. A minimum of 7 and a maximum of 12 mother-daughter pairs are ideal. This ensures every girl and every mom feels comfortable, heard, and valued.
-
Yes. This is an important part of what makes the workshop a profound and meaningful experience for each girl. If a mom is not in the picture, a blood relative such as an aunt or grandmother must attend alongside her. The workshop is always held on a single day, so if your session falls on a weekday, you’ll need to make arrangements to take time off if you don’t have a flexible work schedule. This is an important day in the life of your daughter and your presence makes it so.
-
Yes. My workshop is designed for 4th and 5th graders, but I warmly welcome girls who are developing earlier or later than that window. If you're unsure, just reach out. I’m happy to talk it through.

The workshop is six hours and is always held in a single day. The intimacy and trust that builds throughout the day is part of what makes it special, and it can't be shortened. Most sessions run on a Saturday from 10am to 4pm, or a Sunday from 12pm to 6pm, though timing can be adjusted earlier or later depending on the group. For groups that prefer a weekday, an after-school option is available from 1:30 to 7:30pm. I'd strongly encourage you to block off the whole day to be fully present with your daughter, not just at the workshop itself.
-
The workshop is $125 per mother-daughter pair. Payment in full is due the day before the workshop via Venmo. Sessions require a minimum of 7 couples, and every couple pays regardless of group size. If your group has fewer than 7, the total cost of $875 is divided equally among those attending. If your group is larger than 7 couples, each couple still pays $125. If you're bringing an additional child, such as a twin or an age-appropriate sister, there is a $25 fee per extra child.

Once you fill out the contact form, I'll add you to my interest list and reach out personally. From there, you'll receive workshop documents to share with the other potentially interested moms to form your group. You’ll also receive an email with a required waiver that all attending moms must bring to the workshop.
